Psalm 121 vs 1,8;  1. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.  8. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in; from this time forth and even forevermore.

On May 7, 2015, members of Lord of the Hills (LOTH) Lutheran Church gathered in Centennial, Colorado to plant the sister Linden tree to our sponsored Quince tree planted at the Luthergarten in Wittenberg, Germany.  They celebrated the event with the Tree Planting Liturgy Service. The service was held in the area of our memorial garden that bears an inscription of the same Psalm.  Psalm 121 is a very poignant verse for us because of the powerful, panoramic view of the Rocky Mountains from our church.

“This opportunity started when Mr. Heiko Meyer led a pilgrimage of LOTH members to Wittenberg in 2014.  While there, they learned about the Luthergarten and inquired about the possibility of sponsoring a tree.  After some due diligence and persistence, Heiko, with the support of LOTH members, saw his dream come true.  On June 26, 2015, eight members of LOTH gathered with Pastor Joachim Zirkler and Annette Glaubig (LWF center Wittenberg) and visitors to perform the Tree Planting Liturgy Service in the Luthergarten.  We are humbled and honored to have been able to represent LOTH in this powerful experience.  It is with vision like Heiko's, determination and trust in God like Pastor Tom Renquist's, the founding Pastor of LOTH, along with all the members of LOTH that we commit ourselves to unity in Christ. Together with all our global, ecumenical brothers and sisters, we commemorate the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther's Reformation.  Amen“
Rev. Paul Renquist
