On December 1, 2017 an American Linden tree was planted for Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lehighton, PA USA. The tree received the blessing by Vicar Richard Bergen.

Some month later, on Earth Day, April 22, 2018, the formal dedication of the tree took place in the side yard at Trinity.  In addition to bestowing a blessing on the tree, Rev. Nancy Moore, Trinity's pastor, also blessed a Reformation time capsule before its burial beneath the tree.  The time capsule contains photos and congregational memorabilia and is designated to be unsealed in the year 2517 for the 1000th anniversary of the Reformation.

As part of the dedication, members of Trinity placed small river rocks on the mulch surrounding the tree.  The rocks were labeled and painted by Sunday School students and adults from the congregation.  Examples of words painted on the rocks included love, peace, kindness, grace, forgiven, healed, family and Jesus is my light.  Icons included music symbols, a cross, rainbow, butterfly and heart.  Some were even personalized with the painter's names.
