Planting in the Luther Garden :

On October 1st, 2011, Pastor Frieder Boller (watering the tree) planted a bird cherry tree on behalf of the Association of Mennonite Congregations in Germany.

Planting the partner tree :

On September 16th, 2012, during an ecumenical reconciliation worship service of the Association of Mennonite Congregations in Germany and the United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Germany, a partner tree was planted by the “Mennokate” (Menno Cottage) in Bad Oldesloe, the place of the last years of Menno Simons’ life and work, in order to strengthen the “Band of Peace” between Mennonites and Lutherans.
