On September 20th, 2011, Church Superintendent Martina Berlich (2nd from left by the tree), President of the Church Synod Christian Herbst (left, with watering can) and the Conference of Colleagues in Preaching Ministry planted an amur maple tree on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Church District of Eisenach-Gerstungen in the Evangelical Church in Central Germany.
On November 3rd, 2012, Church District Superintendent Martina Berlich (right, with spade), Chair of the District Synod Christian Herbst (center), and Pastor Klaus Zebe of Ifta planted three “Luther linden trees” as partner trees for the Evangelical Lutheran Church District of Eisenach-Gerstungen. These trees are part of the “tree cross project” on the former inner-German border between Thuringia and Hessia.
