On May 23rd, 2019, Church Superintendent Dr. Olaf Richter (back row, 4th from left), accompanied by church staff members and representatives of the congregation in Oelsnitz, planted a Norway maple tree on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Church District Annaberg, Germany.
On October 31st, 2019, Bernd Birkigt, Mayor of Oelsnitz (center); Dr. Olaf Richter (right), Church Superintendent of the Church District Annaberg; local Pastor Peter Bergmann (left) and Church Council member Matthias Häschel planted a scarlet oak tree as a partner tree for the Evangelical Lutheran Church District Annaberg. The tree is located centrally between the community center, the town hall, the market square, and the church in Oelsnitz in the Erzgebirge and therefore right on the St. James way in Saxony.
