On April 5th, 2016, Church Superintendent Dr. Bernd Brauer (with watering can), accompanied by members of the Church District, planted a silver linden tree on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Church District Emsland-Bentheim, Germany.
On October 19th, 2015, Robert Mgaya, General Secretary of the Dodoma Diocese; David Shimwela, head of the school board of the EmBeKo School; and Kerstin Buck-Emden, the partnership coordinator of the Church District of Emsland-Bentheim (pictured handing over the tree) planted several Mkangazi saplings (a type of mahogany tree common in East Africa) on the grounds of the EmBeKo Secondary School (Emsland-Bentheim-Kondoa). The planting was accompanied by a short devotion from District Pastor Humphrey Sam beforehand, as well as songs from the school students. With these plantings, the Church District of Emsland-Bentheim expanded the international partner tree network of the Luthergarten and protected the ground at the school from drying out and eroding.
