On April 12th, 2011, Bishop Dr. Tamás Fabiny (left, with spade), Bishop János Ittézs (right) and members of the Committee for Preparation of the Reformation Jubilee 2017 planted a small leaved linden tree on behalf of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hungary. As a gesture of unity, they brought along some soil from their home and tied ribbons in the colors of the Hungarian flag to the branches of the trees. They then brought soil from the Luthergarten back for the partner tree planting in Hungary.
On October 4th, 2011, Bishop Fabiny (next to the tree) planted a linden tree as partner tree at the Reformation Park in Budapest. Bishop Gáncs and the choir from the Lutheran high school of Budapest-Fasor, led by Ms. Andrea Novàky (in background), took part in the festive ceremony.
