On November 1st, 2009, the first 25 trees in the Luthergarten were adopted. Church official Klaus Rieth from Stuttgart (citing the selected Bible verse) planted a whitebeam tree on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Württemberg, Germany.
On October 18th, 2017, Reverend K. Rieth, Dean E.-W. Gohl, Pastor P. Schaal-Ahlers and Master Builder of the Cathedral (from left) planted a “Lutherlinde” tree as a partner tree directly next to the Cathedral in Ulm. The linden tree is also the 300th tree in a series of prominent trees in Ulm.
