On November 9th, 2014, with ecumenical cooperation from Protestant and Catholic citizens of the City of Herrieden, Ms. Yvonne Haundel (center) and Pastor Martin Reutter (left) planted a Thuringian ash tree as partner tree for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Christ. The tree stands in front of the municipal secondary school, next to the reunification memorial which documents the sister city relationship with Bockau in the Erzgebirge region of Germany, thus building a bridge between East and West and between the past and the present.
