On October 5th, 2016, members of all involved congregations planted a sweetgum tree on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Congregation Budapest-Deák Platz, Hungary, and its partner congregations in Apáca, Transylvania; Csákvár, Hungary; Ebern, Germany; and Porvoo, Finland.
On June 4th, 2017, Pentecost Sunday, a plaque was inaugurated in the courtyard of the Church Center in Budapest. A tree was planted in 2011 on the occasion of the congregation’s 200th anniversary in that courtyard and the plaque declares it a partner tree for the Evangelical Lutheran Congregation in Budapest. The partner congregations from Apáca, Csákvár, Ebern and Porwoo that were also involved in the tree planting in Wittenberg, took part in the celebration in Budapest.
