On February 22nd, 2017, during the conference of Protestant and Catholic bishops in Lower Saxony, Church President Dr. Martin Heimbucher (2nd from left) planted a sweetgum tree on behalf of the Evangelical Reformed Church in Germany. Also taking part in the planting were Bishop Franz-Josef Bode of the Diocese of Osnabrück (4th from right) and Auxiliary Bishop Wilfried Theising of Vechta (3rd from left).
