On September 24th, 2010, Archbishop Elmars Rozitis (left, next to the Director of the LWF Center Wittenberg, Pastor Hans W. Kasch) and church district provost Lauma Zusévica (right) planted a common ash tree on behalf of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church Abroad.
On May 22nd, 2011, a Cedar of Lebanon was planted near the Rowfant House in Crawley, West Sussex, Great Britain, as partner tree for the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church Abroad (see photo).
In addition, other trees were planted in remembrance of the Reformation Jubilee. On Reformation Day, October 31st, 2010, Pastor Daira Cilnis planted a mountain ash tree for the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church in Seattle (not pictured). Every Reformation Day, the congregation gathers at the tree for word and song.
