On March 17th, 2017, confirmands of the Lutheran congregations in Seyda, Gentha, Gadegast, Mellnitz, Morxdorf, Naundorf, Ruhlsdorf, and Zemnick (all in Germany), as well as from the Lutheran congregations in Uldum and Sindbjerg in Denmark, planted a silver linden tree. The idea for a tree planting came during a conference, for which Pastor Peter Krabbe-Larsen (pictured at the far left) and Pastor Annett Lüster (just to his right) traveled to Germany with 38 confirmands, two teachers, and a church musician. They were welcomed and accompanied by Pastor Thomas Meinhof (5th from right, with guitar) from Seyda.
On May 26th, 2017, during a “Luther Day” in the town of Elster (Elbe), near Wittenberg, a Boskoop apple tree was planted in the leisure park in the town as a partner tree. Participating were Chair of the Heimatverein Sabine John, Lord Mayor Wolfgang Fröbe, Pastor Thomas Meinhof, Henrike Tietz, and Gert Meyer.
