On March 11th, 2012, during the 5th International Theological Seminar of the Lutheran World Federation, Pastor Robert Grewe (center) planted a red maple tree on behalf of the Synod of Alberta and the Territories of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada. A child from the Protestant Elementary School in Wittenberg is ready to help by watering the tree.
On Pentecost Sunday, May 27th, 2012, a chokecherry tree was planted at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hanna, Alberta, Canada. Pastor Robert Grewe, Mr. Sig Jabs and Mr. Walter Alksne prepared the soil for the planting, and the 2012 confirmation class planted the tree under the Biblical word of Colossians 2:6-8.
