Planting in the Luther Garden :

On May 24th, 2017, Dr. Hermann Clement (left of the tree) and Lidiia Tselsdorf (right of the tree), accompanied by the songs of a choir from Kiev, planted a birch tree on behalf of the partnership between the Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Deanery of Munich, Germany, and the German Evangelical Lutheran Congregation of St. Katherina, Kiev, Ukraine.

Planting the partner tree :

On May 13th, 2018, on the occasion of a partnership visit (members of the delegation from Munich were City Dean Barbara Kittelberger, Deacon Frey who was responsible for the partnerships, and Hermann Clement as head of the Dean's Kiev Committee) a linden tree was planted as a partner tree for the Evangelical Lutheran congregation St. Katharina, Kiev, Ukraine in front of the St. Katharina Church in Kiev. Representatives from the City of Kiev, the Ukrainian government, and the German embassy in Kiev, participated in the tree planting ceremony.
On May 20th, 2018, on the occasion of a worship service celebrating the 100th anniversary of church music and choir in the Ascension Church in Munich Sendling, an ash tree was planted as a partner tree for the Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church District Munich, Germany. Ms. Lisa Sfonowa from the St. Katharina Congregation travelled from Kiev to Munich to take part in the planting. City Dean Kittelberger and Hermann Clement also participated in the planting.
