On July 16th, 2010, ahead of the General Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation in Stuttgart, President Dr. Elder Fook-yee Wong (with spade, shoveling the soil) planted a hawthorn tree on behalf of the Tsung Tsin Mission of Hong Kong.
On June 6th, 2015, four partner trees for churches from Hong Kong were planted on the grounds of the Lutheran Theological Seminary. All four churches are represented with a tree in Wittenberg. On behalf of their churches, the church presidents each planted a Buddhist pine tree: Pastor Bob Lo, Dean of the Tsung Tsin Mission of Hong Kong; Pastor Lee Lap Yan, President of the Hong Kong and Macau Lutheran Church; Elder Chan Ka Keung, Vice President of The Chinese Rhenish Church Hong Kong Synod; and Pastor Ben Chang, Bishop of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong (all pictured, left to right).
